Nicky Percival is an award winning interior designer with 30 years professional experience. Her studio is known for designs which bring out the personality and vision of her clients in an open and articulate way, creating living spaces entirely attuned to them and their properties, be they historic or modern buildings, residential or commercial. Designs are intuitive, personal and considered.

Nicky’s Story and philosophy

After gaining a BA Hons in Interior Design from Kingston, Nicky’s career started as a set designer in Theatre and Television Drama. Her approach is lively, friendly and collaborative, and her knowledge of architecture, period buildings and decorative arts allows an ability to use modern elements of design with creativity and respect .

She looks at projects from all perspectives before creating designs that engage physically and emotionally. Creating spaces that inspire the owners, enhance their lives and enable them to thrive, is at the heart of her philosophy.

Appraisal to establish rapport.

Design brief - establish the scope of the project, what the priorities are, how the space is to be used, scale, aesthetics, timing and budget.

Concept development - a collaboration to create the best use of the space to suit lifestyle, practical requirements and aesthetics. Creation of a design direction and style for the project

Once the design concept is clear, measured drawings - room layouts, floor plans and elevations

Clients often involve our services at
the beginning of a project and work alongside architects to help design spaces from the inside out. We work in collaboration with RIBA partners who can also provide full architectural design for new construction, remodelling or extensions if needed.

We work with specialist contractors to enhance interior design features and create the atmosphere desired. Dramatic feature fittings along with hidden or subtle solutions.

Furniture and Upholstery

The demand for storage is an essential component for busy family or work life. We work with skilled craftsmen to provide bespoke solutions and experienced upholsterers to create bespoke furniture or revitalise loved pieces.

Soft Furnishings

Bespoke window dressing and all soft furnishing needs are designed and created with skilled workrooms. The fitting service is professional and personal meeting exacting demands. Working with major fabric houses and especially collaborating with emerging textile brands.
